Back with the second in this series on spanking. Bonnie chided me a bit the other day, telling me that what I was writing about is not just spanking, per se, but rather it involves more than just spanking. I guess it depends on how you define the term, but I’m going to go with some sort of “official” definition and see what we come up with…okay, from Merriam Webster: “to strike, especially on the buttocks, with an open hand.”
And herein, you see the problem. Spanking is awesome, it is wonderful, and I love to put Bonnie over my knee and spank her butt with my open hand. But what do we call it when using other things besides the open hand? Whipping? Beating? No way am I going to go that route. Yes, we do use things called whips, but I’ll get to that in another post.
This is why I prefer the word discipline, though of course that word also has several different shades of meaning. “Train to obey rules or a code of behavior.” Yeah…that definitely works for me. Bonnie has certain rules that she has agreed to obey, and since she never completely does, there is always discipline time in our household. Thankfully.
Remember, Bonnie agrees with all this, too. It’s always consensual, and of course there is a safe word. And you also may begin and continue only with the open hand. That is absolutely fine. Even though we have gone quite a bit further than that, we both still enjoy it immensely.
So, lest this get too long, let me give you some ideas for going just a bit beyond the hand. There are a variety of implements that are still pretty mild, though of course you can vary the gusto with which you apply them to your subject. Certain things like slappers can sting a lot, but generally do not leave any marks, save some mild lingering redness–in other words, not much more than a hand. But, because the area is smaller, the sting is intensified.
Crops are also a good choice. We have this one (and others), and Bonnie attests that it definitely stings–again, because of the small area.
Then, there are paddles and canes. Are you getting the idea here that there are virtually endless options? And what better to use along with these implements, than some sturdy wooden bondage furniture? We have several options that are perfect for applying a good spanking, such as our Kneeler Spanking Bench, or our Classic Sawhorse.
I hope this has given you many ideas. Next time I will give some ideas for floggers and…whips. These are the “big boys” of discipline, and as far as we are concerned, not to be missed.
Until next time,
Clyde
